Elite sports partnership

Saarland University Student Services (Studentenwerk) is an official partner for elite student sport.

The aim of the agreement is to promote elite sport at Saarland University by making it easier for elite sportsmen and sportswomen to balance the demands of studying, training and competition. These sportsmen and women are studying under extremely challenging conditions and therefore rely on the University and Studentenwerk to acknowledge these unique circumstances and, where necessary, grant special dispensation. The Studentenwerk has now undertaken to take due account of the particular requirements of elite student sportsmen and sportswomen in Saarland. This applies both to the provision of accommodation in a student hall of residence as well as to any special nutritional requirements.

At present, there are 23 elite German athletes studying at Saarland University.
